Introducing Rob Broadhurst, Vocal, Choir, and Stage Direction
Rob Broadhurst has 24 years of piano and voice experience and has been working as a music teacher, composer/lyricist, voice-over artist, and performer for over 12 years.
He grew up studying piano, music, and voice in Solano County under Nancy Woods, Connie Lisec, and David Barthelmess and went on to receive his BFA in English from UC Davis.
He then earned his MFA in Musical Theater Writing at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
As a musical theater writer, he's had several pieces produced in New York City, including a limited Off-Broadway run of an original musical comedy in 2011 which starred Tony-winner Mary Testa.
He was also featured in Tony-award winner William Finn's "Songs By Ridiculously Talented Composers You Don't Know But Should" at Barrington Stage and Joe's Pub.
He has served as a music director for several youth and professional productions in California, Oklahoma, New York, and Florida and has accompanied countless others. He has also provided music and voice work for several internet shorts, animations, and short films.
He currently writes music, lyrics, and provides voice work for the children's entertainment franchise "Mutasia". Their premiere album, "Nature Calls," is available to download on iTunes and Amazon.com and their first animation, "The Mish Mash Bash," is available on DVD.
As an actor, he's performed all over Northern CA. Some of his favorite roles include Jamie in "The Last 5 Years," Whizzer in "Falsettos," Man 1 in "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change," Smudge in "Forever Plaid," Matt in "The Fantasticks," and Frank N' Furter in "The Rocky Horror Show" (San Francisco Bay Area Critics Circle Award Winner for Best Featured Actor in 2013).
