Vacaville Treasure Refortifies Theatre Training Program in Newly Transformed Outdoor Tarrega Garden

Young Artists Conservatory of Music is pleased to introduce Timothy Callais as Solano Youth Theatre’s new Director of Theatre, announcing fall enrollment for outdoor acting classes, including improvisation, storytelling, and puppetry in the newly renovated Tarrega Garden Venue.
“There is no better time than now to start searching for the best version of yourself to offer up to the world,” Callais says, “even if you wind up becoming a doctor, or a teacher, a lawyer, or a preacher, studying and practicing the ancient traditions of acting will make you better at anything you dream of achieving.”
Callais joins the Solano County arts community with 20 years on stage and 17 years teaching acting with various theatres across the country. Trained in long-form improvisation and holding an MFA in acting from the University of Hawai’i, as well as a B.S. in Theatre Performance and Directing from Northwestern State University, Callais offers a fun, professional, and self-reflective performance training style that allows aspiring actors of all ages the opportunity to find themselves while on stage pretending to be someone else.
Young Artists Conservatory of Music is adapting to the uncertainty of a COVID-19 world and forging ahead by transforming their outdoor patio space into a whimsically stunning outdoor instruction and rehearsal space called the Tarrega Garden Venue: perfectly suited for any outdoor event looking to stay safe without sacrificing an unforgettable atmosphere. Callais will teach all theatre classes in the picturesque Tarrega Garden.
“We have proudly offered exceptionally high-quality performance training in Vacaville for 20 years,” says YACM’s Executive Director Wanda Cook, “and we only intend to keep getting better. We promise to continue adapting to the times in order to be here for our community’s enrichment offering polished arts education for another 20 years.”
