Introducing Jack Hanes, Trumpet, Band
Jack Hanes was born in Dayton, Ohio. He grew up on a small Ohio farm, attended Miami University of Ohio, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.
After college, he served three years of active duty in the Army Band at the Presidio of San Francisco. After the army, he attended San Francisco State University where he recieved his California teaching credential.
He then went to Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and received a Masters Degree in Church Music with a concentration in voice.
He taught music in Santa Rosa at Rincon Valley Christian School for seven years before teaching in public schools.
He is now retired from public school teaching and from the Army National Guard Band.
He plays trumpet in the Solano Winds Community Band, the Valley Brass Quintet, and occasionally with the “Generation Gap” Jazz Band.
He has lived in Vacaville with his wife for over 20 years. She is a retired kindergarten teacher. They have two children who are both married. They also have one granddaughter.
