Student Achievement: Benjamin Mendiola at The Solano Symphony Youth Competition.

Congratulations to Benjamin Mendiola for earning 2nd place in the Solano Symphony's Concerto Competition.

Ben competed with Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue in October.

Benjamin has been a YACM student since he was 8 years old, and has studied classical piano with Wanda Cook for the last 4 years. Ben is a featured pianist with YACM. His recent repertoire besides the 30-page Rhapsody in Blue include Beethoven's Tempest Sonata, Copeland's Cat and Mouse, and Poulent's Novellet.

Ben will perform Sleigh Ride, a duet with 2nd-year Featured Soloists, Allie Knitter, and he will play viola with the Rock Orchestra at Holiday Harmonies on Dec. 21, 2014.
