Introducing Jim Lucas, Drums, Percussion, Band
Jim Lucas is originally from Indian, IN. He began singing and playing clarinet at age 6.
Mr. Lucas began playing percussion professionally while in high school. He played in, and directed a drum and bugle corps while attending military school.
He studied other brass, woodwinds, and string instruments while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in music Education from Butler University in Indianapolis.
Mr. Lucas spent 32 years as a music educator in Indiana and Kentucky directing bands and choruses at all levels of education including the university level. He retains his lifetime license to teach music in all grades, and foreign language in grades 7-12, in Indiana.
He earned a Masters degree in Education from Butler University and currently performs with four bands including “Solid Gold”.
