Ninety Show Choir StudentsPerform at Music Matters Winter Concert

Ninety Music Matters show choir students took the stage on Jan. 28 for their all Show Choir Winter Concert at Nelda Mundy Elementary School.

The groups, under the direction of Shanda Daranouvong had been hard at work for four months preparing to perform such hits as,

  • "A Thousand Years,"

  • "In Summer,"

  • "Just The Way You Are"

  • "Titanium."

The final song performed by Nothing But Treble, the advanced show choir, was an a cappella arrangement by Ms. Shanda and Tobe Daranouvong of "Don't You" from "The Breakfast Club."

"It was a dream come true doing this piece and my students did an amazing job," Ms. Shanda said. "Sam Schneider did a fabulous job holding the tempo as ourbeat boxer. I was so proud of them."

At the end, the four show choirs joined the stage for their signature curtain call to "We Are The Champions."

"It's incredible to see these kids loving music and dance with such passion and maturity," Ms. Shanda said. "The students showcased their professionalism, dedication, hard work and focus, which earned them a standing ovation from the audience."

Be sure to mark your calendars for May 19 at 6:00 p.m. for a show you don't want to miss, the Music Matters Spring Show Choir Concert.

This concert will be held in Fairfield at Nelda Mundy Elementary School. Come out and enjoy an evening of music and support these kids and all their hard work because Music Matters!
