Introducing Gabriella Cook-Proffitt

Born and raised in Vacaville, Gabriella Cook-Proffitt is a graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where she studied dance education with a specialization in ballet technique.
Throughout high school, she studied dance intensively in the San Francisco Bay Area while also studying music at YACM.
While a student at Will C. Wood’ High School, she performed with the Sylvan Singers.
In college, she had opportunities to develop skills in modern and jazz techniques. She studied choreography and multidisciplinary collaboration in the arts.
Other aspects of her education included somatic studies, movement therapy, and the liberal arts.
Mrs. Cook-Proffitt also found expression for her musical interests in piano and singing through a musical theater minor and in church musicianship.
In the course of attaining her BFA, she performed works by local and international choreographers and became a peer tutor in ballet for which she was acknowledged with an Excellence In Tutoring Award and an Outstanding Student Teaching Award.
Other teaching experience has included weekly ballet classes for children at local studios and advanced master classes at her hometown studio.
She is grateful to be dancing professionally with Ballet 180 on Philadelphia’s Mainline this year, while also returning to partner with YACM as our Development Coordinator.
