Introducing Jazz Band

The Artistic Director has annonced the beginning of a new youth ensemble, Jazz Band. This will help youth explore the exciting world of improvisation.

Students between the ages of 12 - 18 will rehearse various forms of jazz music from Funk to Latin. Intermediate and advanced students will learn jazz styles and techniques. They will learn the basics of jazz harmony, improvisation, swing style, syncopation, and more.

Jazz Band will soon become one of our featured bands that will play at our regularly schedduled events including Treats and Tunes, Holiday Harmonies, Premier Performers, and Melody Makers. It will also perform in venues around the region.

It will be directed by Teaching Artist Wayne Gross, the lead saxophone player for the popular regiional group, The Time Bandits.
