Free Music Field Trip for Homeschoolers

In recognition of National Arts and Education Week, YACM’s Artistic Director Wanda Cook announces our Free Seminar and Workshop Series for families with elementary aged children: Understanding Music Education in the Brain of Your Child: Cognition / Social Intelligence /Arts Capacity. The first Free parent seminar and student field trip is offered to our Community’s Homeschoolers on Monday, September 26 at 10:00 – 11:30. Flyer and Website.

In an enjoyable demonstration and provocative presentation, Artistic Director, Wanda Cook will uncover the mysteries of how meaningful music education increases a child’s ability to flourish. By conjoining statistical studies with real-life demonstration participants will learn about how cognition, social intelligence, and artistic capacity create what is known as the OPERA Hypothesis* or “musicians’ advantage”.
