Imagine what can change this year!
Little hands splayed over a full-size piano keyboard. Young voices warbling over little lungs. Uncooperative fingers trying to find just the right spot on that violin string. Ardent young drummers learning self-control before glory behind that big drum kit. Elementary band flute player tapping in time in deep focus on the music and conductor. A classroom of minority and under-privileged children who have never sung together… until now. “Imagine what will change this year!"
YACM’s first quarter of the season is all about hope. It is the hope of enrolling young people in music programs that unveil potential. It is the hope of bringing community together. It is the hope of teaching children how to recognize their potential. It is the hope of transforming lives. In the Fall Season, YACM is fervently working to create and launch music programs, hire passionate instructors, enroll families, and organize strategic performances.
In preparation for our November Meeting of the Board of Directors, a summary report reflecting the financial status and program outcomes of the first quarter is prepared. From that report, we are proud to list our Fall Season outcomes here.
43% more students have enrolled in SMC private and specialized lessons than projected.
Over 2000 children living in “at-risk” populations of Vallejo who have never enjoyed music education are participating in Music Matters Chorus Classes, representing a 450% enrollment increase over last year.
SYT enrolled 48% more young actors than last spring and will perform in Solano’s first ever staging of Disney’s Lion King November 18 -19.
8th annual Treats and Tunes Concert performed for over 2000 people on Halloween
Featured Pianist Evan Losoya won 2nd place in the Northern CA MTNA Senior Composers Competition, published his first volume of advanced piano solos, and 1st place in the Solano Symphony Young Artist Competition.
Successful launch of early child intro to music programs.
Successful launch of guitar education in Fairfield Public School.
Added 6 highly qualified instructional staff.
