YACM Celebrates 15 Years with New Programs, New Instructors | Conductors

In April 2005, I filed the Articles of Incorporation for a new Non-Profit Corporation, Young Artists Conservatory of Music. . In April 2005 we had no idea that we'd save Solano Youth Theatre from closing in 2010, launch a Music Matters program for public school children, or commission professional symphonies to accompany our most accomplished "young artists".

Over the last 14-1/2 years YACM has been helping young people recognize and pursue their potential as creative, confident, and critically minded musicians. The vision, to nurture genuine and comprehensive musicianship in children has brought excellence, diligence, and hope to strengthen our community.

Heading into our 15th season, YACM has demonstrated what years of scientific studies have shown: Education in the arts have the greatest capacity to develop human potential and social connectedness. Our vision has been to empower young people by nurturing genuine musicianship through excellent training.

Genuine Musicianship also takes A LOT of commitment, mentorship, accountability and support. Our Teaching Artists bring this strong community to the life of your child. Whether a child is beginning to explore or in the midst of years in pursuit of their talent YACM is dedicated to this process.

This 15th season at YACM will bring new programs and expand old ones. We want to help your child explore his interests and aptitude for music. We have new entry priced classes for entry level students. Our Solano Youth Chamber Orchestra will be flagship program of an expanded new community youth symphony, and we will be inviting young horn players to participate in youth brass ensembles. YACM is expanding our newly formed A cappella group (Fuse) and has already selected the participants in our junior A cappella group called “Spark”. “Peter Pan” another full-length musical with live pit orchestration is booked for November 15 – 16 at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre, and this year’s “Black Tie Gala Concert” will celebrate excellent vocal performance in three genre’s: Classical, Theatre, and Jazz.

Our 15th Season begins August 12, 2019. The facility is getting a fresh coat of paint. Plans for new landscaping are underway. We will have our Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting On September 18th. You're invited to come and get to know what Young Artists Conservatory of Music means for our community.
